“Her treatment was beautiful. My body felt very soft and quiet and the resonance is still working deeply into my bones. She is a natural.”
Leila, Massage Therapist
“I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from sound massage when I started but Karen has a fantastic way of explaining the principles behind it and I was immediately at ease. I personally find the sessions to be best for mindfulness and relaxation but it can be a useful tonic for physical conditions too (in my case, Sciatica)”
Peter, Product Director
“Apart from the fact that Karen’s sound massage was deeply relaxing and enjoyable which was therapeutic in itself, I was amazed that a long term persistent cough was shifted in one session! The pain from a twingey ligament in my knee was similarly dispatched in my next massage.
Just before my third visit I developed a very painful lower back around my sacroiliac joint, an occupational hazard which often leads to sciatica. By the following day the pain had virtually disappeared!
I can’t recommend this treatment high enough… and look forward to my next sound massage as I will be continuing with regular maintenance sessions. As I have horses I am keen to try this sound massage on them to as I am convinced by its therapeutic value.”
Susan, Dentist
“Sound massage is a lovely practice and Karen does it all so well. She has a calm, gentle, healing quality. I like the way it is so much about the listening and people can intuit/read for themselves what’s going on. I felt relaxed and cleansed after and not so tense around my head and neck. I think what she offers is very special.”
Demetra, Artist.
“What and amazing experience sound massage was for me- it exceeded anything I could have imagined! I felt a huge release of pressure and tension between my shoulder blades and the energy caused by the vibrations in my hands and feet reached the back of my head where I felt a soft, tingly sensation. I am currently recommending this to everyone! I have also purchase gift vouchers for friends who I’d love to enjoy sound massage too.
Natalie, Hairdressing Salon Director.
“I’ve waited a week since our session mostly by intent, as I wanted to give you confirmed feedback: As you know I enjoyed the sound massage thoroughly, though was surprised to find that immediately after leading and up to today, my body feels as it used to pre chemo treatment and ensuing disruption of functional responses. I experience being back in control of my own body with appropriate looseness and muscular flexibility- like everything has gone back into place. Thank you.”
David, Counsellor
“Modern science now supports the ancient belief that all matter emanates from vibration and sound. The resonance of the sound from these singing bowls on and around your body seems to expand your awareness before returning you to the source of pure silence. I was not surprised to hear that Karen is a pianist as she plays skilfully into the spaces in your body with great sensitivity and you can feel the patterns emanating out of them- from the spaces in your pelvis, the thoracic cavity, hip joints, sinus passages… as though you were exploring caverns deep inside yourself. You come away feeling cleansed, soothed, reenergised and the balance and harmony stay with you for days. It is a great complement to more physical practices like yogasana, tai chi, body massage- like chanting mantra from within.”
Katie, Iyengar Yoga teacher
“I had been mildly sceptical, as I am generally not good at relaxing, but loved this form of massage. I found myself enchanted by the hypnotic sounds of the bowls, relaxing into the treatment completely, and enjoying the physical sensation of the vibrations through my bones. I loved the fact that there were no ‘surprises’ – you can always feel the bowls being introduced. As you wear your clothes and are not being touched directly, the treatment doesn’t feel intrusive, but the bowls’ vibrations still very clearly ‘touch’ your core.”
Anja, Enterprise Support Manager, Software Industry
“Karen’s sound massages were recommended to me by a friend. Before I booked, I did a little research, and must admit that I was a little dubious about the likely effectiveness of the treatment. However, on the basis of the recommendation I signed up for a series of four massages. By the end of the first massage all doubts were dispelled. I have had various kinds of more traditional massage in the past, but the results of the sound massage surpassed all of these. At the end of each massage I felt deeply, deeply relaxed both mentally and physically. I believe I got progressively more out of the sessions each time, as I got more familiar with the treatment and as Karen progressively introduced more aspects to the sessions. I would definitely recommend Karen’s sound massages to anyone feeling the need for deep relaxation.”
Tim, Computing Academic
“I have been treated by Karen on three occasions (so far) and have found the experience of sound massage with her to be incredibly profound and transformative. The deep relaxation that I have felt during these treatments has stayed with me but, more than that, I have also felt deep blockages beginning to shift, in the weeks that have followed each of the treatments.
I have also experienced a sense of safety, as the resonance from the sound of the bowls being struck has helped me to travel into and through subtle layers of my bodily experience. I have felt this to have gone deeply and into a place which, I sense, has transcended my current body but which has then taken me gently and skilfully back to feeling grounded in the here and now, before the end of each treatment. The profound sense of stillness that I have experienced in the immediate aftermath or each of my treatments is a highly precious thing.
I feel very grateful to Karen for helping me to feel so safely guided into and through these layers on my being with such gentleness and grace.”
Brigid, Artist
“I have to admit, I felt tense and apprehensive as I approached the treatment room. I cannot explain the peace and serenity I experienced when I went in. The whole ambience was so peaceful and relaxing. The actual therapy was amazing. I felt totally relaxed and my aches and pains vanished. My whole body seemed to be in tune with the bowls. Thank you, Karen, I eagerly anticipate my next treatment.”
Elizabeth, Retired school teacher
“I booked four sessions with Karen over a period of a few weeks, and have to say that they were amongst the most deeply relaxing, almost transcendental, experiences I’ve ever had. Each of the sessions left me in a lasting state of tranquillity, and of mental and physical wellbeing: I’d recommend Karen’s services to anyone.”
Chris, Civil Servant
“Having heard about sound massage from a friend, I was intrigued and keen to give it a try. Suffering from lower back pain, I was hopeful that it might help with this but was really just curious and interested in experiencing something new. Karen’s approach immediately gives you confidence in the treatment. The bowls look and sound fabulous. The sensation of being completely enveloped in sound is a real revelation. Unlike other relaxation focused therapies, where the mind (mine anyway!) can wander, I was kept firmly in the moment by the beautiful and hypnotic sounds of the bowls. The ensuing relaxation felt all the deeper for being held in the present in this way. My body felt light and almost absent- quite free of pain and stiffness. I would thorough recommend giving sound massage a go.”
Morag, School teacher
“In my experience with Karen the richness of the sound power of the gong has the ability to deeply penetrate and realign vibrational energy. This ever so easy way of letting go of “old stuff” creates a wonderfully radiant feeling of lightness as it restores the natural frequency of the body, mind and spirit. It is truly magical!”
Anne, retired school teacher
“A gong bath is a form of deep relaxation and an experience I cherish. I believe the gong provides an opportunity for the mind and body to find deep rest. It reaches through to my soul in what seems like an instant, time becomes irrelevant and I find myself in some other realm journeying through time and space. After a gong bath I feel lighter, more grounded and better equipped to deal with life; I believe its positive effects are ongoing. A gong bath is another tool in the kit for self care; it is a difficult thing to describe because each visit is deeply personal and at times, a profound experience which must be felt to be understood.”
Clare, Writer, Artist and Trainee yoga teacher
“My first try at sound therapy was a gong bath from Karen and all I can say is I’m totally hooked. You can actually feel the waves of sound travel through you and you have no choice but to relax and let go. Highly recommended!”
Marisa
“Thanks for the sound bath last night- very powerful and effective for me. After an intense few weeks re-locating I managed to sleep 10 hours last night and am feeling much more relaxed today”
Ray
“I have never had such a deep relaxation experience as a gong bath and I’ve had an awful lot of massages. I had a really bad headache before I went in - when I came out it was lifted. The sleep I had last night was incredible - I feel great today. I’m seven months pregnant and when a certain gong went off the baby kicked so the baby was loving it too! It was a really, really good experience.”

Horses get huge benefits from a sound massage; their acute hearing picks up on a wider spectrum of frequencies than humans and they are particularly sensitive to the sound and vibrations of the bowls. Here are some testimonials from their owners:
Sammie, a 23 year old Clydesdale Horse (16.3hh).
Received a block of 4 treatments. Deeply relaxed into treatments when there were no distractions)
Treatment 1.
“I’m astonished and delighted that there is a huge improvement in the mobility of Sammie’s right leg after you treated him to a sound massage yesterday. The day before the sound massage, Sammie was very unsound trotting on the right rein, as he has been for the past six weeks due to long term arthritis. Amazingly, when I rode him this morning, he was very close to being sound on that right rein and moving more freely than he has done for weeks. Given that Sammie has had arthritis since he was 14, I really didn’t anticipate seeing any improvement, never mind seeing the significant improvement that he showed this morning.”
Treatment 2.
“I’m astonished, I took Sammie into the arena this morning and he was 99% sound. He had only a mild nod of the head on his bad rein and if I hadn’t been looking for it I would have missed it. He also offered to canter. All this without painkillers. This is the fittest Sammie has been for two months. What a result!”
Treatment 3.
“Today was a milestone for Sammie- we had our first lesson this year with my riding instructor and he did the full hour with ease. Great to get him back to normal again!”
Treatment 4.
“Sammie had his regular visit from the farrier today. He is usually quite stiff because his feet are held up one at a time to be re-shod. Today the farrier noticed a significant difference in Sammie’s flexibility and said he was much easier to shoe as a result. So it’s another success for sound massage.”
Tricia, Sammie’s owner
Spider, 18 year old Grey Gelding Thoroughbred (16.3hh) (A highly strung horse, Spider loved the treatment and became deeply relaxed.)
“Spider is more relaxed- a bit like after he’s had a physio session. He hardly twitched when I groomed him although his skin is quite sensitive and he was perky and sound when taken out for a ride.”
Marion, Spider’s owner
Herbie, An 18 year old Bay Gelding (15.2hh) (initially wary but then deeply relaxed into the treatment)
“Herbie was very alert but relaxed the next day. He seems more comfortable (i.e. less stiff/sore) moving about both by himself and under saddle. I gave him a short lunge and felt he walked out better, with his ears more pricked and - BIG IMPROVEMENT- with a more even stride at both front and back ends. This has concerned me for a long time in so far as we know he is arthritic at the back end and has considerable cartel edge wear and tear and the front end, both of which stop him striding out easily and sometimes cause him to totter a bit round a corner. We had our first gallop in ages! He is quite often a bit stiff to start with but that wasn’t a problem. “
Jenny, Herbie’s owner
Daffy and Walter
“I have two horses who event to a high level. Recently one of them, Daffy, tripped while trotting on the road and badly damaged her knees, After an operation to stitch them up she made a very good recovery but was left with one particularly swollen fat knee. After a session with Karen and her bowls the swelling dramatically reduced and Daffy is now starting work again… months early than predicted.
Our other horse, Walter, has issues with his mouth and although an amazing jumper can become very difficult to steer. After his session with Karen he went off to Blair Castle International Horse Trials and had a very successful 2* run feeling much easier in his mouth.”
Susan, Daffy and Walter’s owner
MacMillan (A calm and wise 26 year old Irish Draught Horse who suffers from arthritis)
“Thank you so much for your time and love for MacMillan. I’ve stopped his painkiller as he seems so much better and happier. I’ll keep looking at his progress”
MacMillan’s owner
